How it all began…
As a self-employed mother of 11 year old twin daughters, with a husband who travels at least 50% of the time, I have always had a million things on my list of things to do…unfortunately that list was so long that the spot that should have been filled with…take time out to connect with your friends and have some fun had actually moved so far down that it had fallen off! Sure, I have been the queen of volunteering and created fun along the way, but the days of making it a priority to go out and create adventure with my girlfriends seemed to be far behind me. I’m fortunate enough to have worked with a fabulous group of women that I truly enjoyed and have travelled on business and had a great time, but that was the key word…business! I think that as women today we wear so many hats, and have this inner belief that all of them have to fit perfectly and that we have to wear them ALL at the same time or we will be judged and found sorely lacking…or maybe that’s just me in my crazy overachiever mode. I have always wanted to have it all, and have always known that I can’t have it all at one time…but having something for me sometimes seemed to inspire guilt if I felt that I hadn’t crossed everything else off first…and I can’t remember that EVER happening!
Enter my fun friend Patty. We have created adventure as Mom’s and girlfriends for 11 years and I know that any crazy idea I have, she is game! We have had amazing times and she was the first to share (or maybe indulge is a better word) my vision of creating fantastic parties for all the girlfriends we know that we don’t see often enough and never have a chance to bring all together for a night of crazy fun once in a while…well, she may not have understood how big my vision could become, but she jumped in anyway!
Next up, Jennifer, my favourite roommate and fabulous friend who has travelled with me and become the yin to my yang…we truly know how to take it up a notch when we’re together…watch out world!! She has the natural ability to immediately share the love with all the women she meets and truly means it!She jumped in to share the vision (or fantasy) as well, and the trio was formed!
My goal is to give every woman who feels that she doesn’t have enough time to herself or enough girlfriends to hang out with an opportunity to come on out and have some fun…small or large scale! We are only limited by our collective imagination! I know that women everywhere are feeling just like I realized I did…over-committed and under-entertained….
It may have taken me awhile to realize it, but now that I have and realize that I am truly not alone in this, I know that we will find a MASSIVE group of Wish Chicks to share in experiences, escapes, fantasy finds, and of course, the ultimate goal that I hold in my head right now…an appearance on Oprah with an audience FULL of Wish Chicks…..5000 members here we come!!
